Sedgley-based Baggeridge,
the UK's premier independent brick manufacturer, ended 2005
on a high note after receiving news that it scooped Best Landscape
Project at the national brick industry awards.
The awards, organised annually by the Brick Development Association
(BDA), recognise manufacturers for their contribution to prestigious
projects over the year and Baggeridge’s involvement
in Nuneaton and Bedworth’s Church Street Enhancement
Scheme saw the company scoop this important accolade.
Using a variety of clay pavers and cobbles, Baggeridge played
an instrumental role in creating a combination of ribbon and
circle patterns. Judges were particularly impressed with the
variety of colours, achieved using Baggeridge’s Red
and Blue Dragfaced Chamfered Pavers and Red and Blue Cobbles.
Clay paving is ideal for such projects as they are fade free
meaning that the colours will not alter and therefore the
intricate design will not fade or be lost over time.
To add vibrancy to the scheme, Church Street welcomed the
installation of new lighting, planters, seating and street
furniture which complemented the pavers and cobbles perfectly.
Mark Morris, Baggeridge’s sales director, said, "We
are delighted to have achieved success in the 2005 BDA Awards.
The products utilised offer strength, durability and longevity
and so are ideal for a project of this nature. We’re
glad that we’ve been able to enhance the appearance
of Church Street further and have helped to make it a safer
and more attractive area to visit.”
