Corium,
Baggeridge’s innovative clay cladding system, has played
an integral part in the £50 million redevelopment of
the Vancouver Centre Shopping Centre in Kings Lynn.
Around 200 square metres of Buff Corium tiles have been used
to renovate a car park elevation at Conduit Street. Situated
above a busy fast food chain, it was imperative the work was
carried out as quickly as possible, whilst also causing minimal
disruption to both shoppers and the retailer, and Corium was
deemed to be the ideal product for this fast-track project.
The existing one floor structure was over-clad with a steel
façade which was then in turn fitted with Corium tiles
- adopting this method of construction not only saved time,
but also eradicated the need for demolition. In addition,
construction took place overnight to guarantee retail outlets
could continue to trade during the day, with cherry pickers
also removing the need for scaffolding.
“This whole refurbishment project was centred around
speed and getting the job done in the quickest possible time
so it comes as no surprise that Corium was specified”
comments Simon Hughes, Corium’s product development
manager.
He continues: “Working alongside such an established
installer such as PCE also ensured seamless construction and
a project that was completed to schedule.”
Corium is an innovative brick cladding system developed by
Baggeridge Brick in conjunction with Terrapin International
Ltd and Corus plc. It combines the aesthetics of traditional
