Builders merchants are an important channel for Baggeridge, seeing more than 50 per cent of its sales distributed via this outlet. In addition to its many customer service options for builders merchants, the West Midlands based company has affirmed its commitment to this market sector by offering a multitude of mixed load options, and with it, merchants can expect to reap a whole host of benefits.

Mark Morris, Baggeridge sales director explains: “Traditionally, merchants have taken delivery of full product loads which not only takes up valuable and extremely limited space on the yard, but also ties up capital. The mixed load option means that we can now offer a whole plethora of products including high commodity stock options such as specials, pavers, blues and engineering bricks for which Baggeridge is renowned. Not only does this enable merchants to keep their stockpile holding to a minimum, crucial for small groups and independents, but also means they can still offer customers the widest possible product choice.”

The launch of the mixed-load is particularly pertinent at the moment, especially when stock holding is such an issue. It’s only by understanding the immense pressures that merchants are under to keep stock levels down that has driven Baggeridge to offer the service. Mark continues: “We believe that by offering mixed loads we are able to give merchants a choice of what they really need as opposed to telling them what they should have. Merchants don’t even need to commit to huge amounts of the same product – they can trial different brick and paver options to suit their ever evolving needs and we can even provide them with products from across seven manufacturing plants in five locations.

“As a merchant friendly company, we are constantly looking for ways in which we can improve and refine our services for them and the new mixed load option is demonstrative of our continued support of this extremely important distribution channel.”
