Summer is finally
here, but classic seasonal images such as lush lawns and freshly
cut grass are scarce after the first drought order in a decade
was granted – a real blow to all the budding Alan Titchmarsh’s.
With the Environment Agency warning that people in the South
East face a ‘serious situation’ water companies
have imposed a hosepipe and sprinkler ban, meaning sun-scorched
lawns and droopy flowers in even the most well kept gardens.
But there are ways to ensure gardens look good all year round,
without the need for expensive Mediterranean plants.
Breaking up large areas of lawn with hard landscaping is an
ideal way to add features and interest to gardens. Interspersed
with hardy shrubs, a partly paved garden will fair better
in dry conditions than one which consists mainly of grass.
Baggeridge’s Origins range of clay pavers is perfect
for revamping tired looking gardens. The UK’s leading
brick manufacturer has an extensive range of plain or multi-coloured
natural clay pavers which can instantly revitalise external
areas, and – unlike grass – can withstand all-year
round weather conditions and still look good.
The practicality and durability of the pavers along with the
outstanding aesthetics ensure keen gardeners won’t have
to compromise on style or design.
Mark Morris, sales director at Baggeridge, commented: “This
summer is set to be tough on lawned gardens, but those looking
for low-maintenance alternatives to grass are able to create
their own individual look by using our Origins clay pavers.
“Concrete pavers are another viable option to use, however,
their life span does not live up to that of clay.”
Baggeridge Brick manufacturers a superb range of high quality
pavers and cobbles under its Origins brand. The extensive
selection means that gardeners can effortlessly create bespoke
effects on paths, patios and driveways.
