"A touch of Classic" takes a restropective look back at the key elements and flavours of a classic English garden.  A circular herringbone paved area, surrounding a abrick sundial provides a focal point on the stand, while water from a wall mounted feature which cascades into a galvanised tank adds a touch of tranqulity.

The circular herringbone paved area was created using a blend of Baggeridge’s Red Multi Sovereign Stock and Castilian Russet Sovereign Stock bricks, which gives adds to the gardens established classical appearence.  The wall surrounding the garden was built in Baggeridge’s Reclaimed Shire Sovereign Stock bricks which has an ‘aged’ appearance and for authenticity, Ian has also used lime mortar.

Ian Shooter at The Garden Centre, Cambridge won a Silver Gilt Medal using Origins clay pavers from Baggeridge at this years RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

"Urban Sun-Setts", presents an interpretation of a contemporary front garden featuring simple planting which is complimented with hard landscaping.  The focal point on the stand is provided by a striking "sunflower" pattern.

The "Sunflower" pattern was created using a mosaic of blue and buff dragfaced clay cobbles from Baggeridge.  Other products used was Sirocco Russet Sovereign Stock Bricks creating a step and border around the main feature of the garden.

2003 Garden

Using Origins clay paving and bricks from Baggeridge, garden designer Ian Shooter of The Garden Design Centre of Great Shelford, Cambridge won a Silver Gilt medal at last year's RHS Chelsea Flower Show.

History

Having won a total of nine awards at the Chelsea Flower Show in ten years of exhibiting, including three previous Gold Medals, garden designer Ian Shooter is celebrating further success at this year's show with the win of the Silver Gilt Medal.

Design

The garden had a sustainable theme and demonstrated how even a small garden can be designed for healthy living to improve quality of life. One of the main attractions was a sedum (living) roof which absorbs carbon dioxide, rainfall and noise and emits oxygen.

Products

The sedum roof was supported by striking columns which were sculpted from Marlborough Smooth Red bricks by Bill Baker. In addition Wyndham Orange Multi Stock piers with Marlborough Smooth Red plinth returns were located at the garden's entrance upon which sat specially carved leaf shaped bricks in a red dragfaced finish. Baggeridge's Blue Vintage Brindled Pavers and Origins cobbles were used for stepping stones and the pathways. To provide the finishing touch, there were four feature plaques on the entrance columns to commemorate the Queens Coronation.
